The NEC Indoor Most Outstanding Rookie Performer has taken his act outdoors and hasn’t slowed down one bit. Competing in the first outdoor meet of his collegiate career, Rosemier-Gussio became the NEC’s early season leader in the 200m dash and stands second amongst the conference’s quarter-milers. The freshman talent completed the 200m dash in 21.64 s at this past weekend’s Wake Forest Open. The time, which came in well under the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships in May, placed the first-year Mountaineer sixth out of 112 entrants and ranked second in his heat at Wake. Rosemier-Gussio completed the 400m dash in 48.91s to claim 17th place out of a 101-entrant field. Only fellow Mountaineer, and 2011 NCAA decathlete qualifier, Tom FitzSimons is the lone NEC athlete with a faster time.
