Robert Morris’ Dillon Pope made it 2-for-2 in several categories this week. The redshirt junior earned his second straight win in just his second career start, stopping 17 shots to secure the Colonials’ 14-12 victory over Hobart and earn his second NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor in as many weeks as RMU’s starting netminder. Just a week after making 13 saves in an upset win over then-No. 18 Ohio State, Pope made double-digit stops again, this time with 17, including 10 in the first half alone. He allowed 12 goals, two of which came on man-up opportunities, and recorded a ground ball. Pope is now 2-0 on the season with a .515 save percentage.
