In what was a stark contrast to his first career start against Marshall, McAvoy twirled a gem during his Northeast Conference debut at Mount St. Mary’s. Taking the ball for the opener of a four-game weekend set, the first-year Bulldog pitched 7.0 innings of one-run ball and picked up the victory. McAvoy scattered seven hits and issued only one base on balls during his second career start at the collegiate level. He encountered some trouble in the third inning when he surrendered back-to-back two-out doubles, but struck out Sam Nott to limit the damage. McAvoy settled in following the third-inning scare and allowed only two singles over his final 4.0 frames on the hill. He left the game holding a 6-1 lead and Bryant went onto post an 11-3 triumph.
