Sophomore Ryan Hughes could not have asked for a better first collegiate victory. The Bayport, NY native made 12 saves and helped hold then-No. 15 Yale to a 1-for-6 clip on the man-up as the Pioneers stunned the Bulldogs, 13-12. He then matched that save figure by stopping 12 again in a 9-6 win over Manhattan. Taking over the reins as the Pioneers’ lead protector between the pipes three games ago, Hughes currently boasts a 2-1 record with a 9.34 goals against average and a .543 save percentage.
