Washington closed out the regular season portion of her freshman campaign by recording back-to-back 20-plus point performances and notching her fifth Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week award. The rookie from the Sun Devil State averaged 24.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per contest against the NEC’s Keystone State contingent last week. Washington poured in 25 points and pulled in six rebounds during a 66-61 triumph over two-time defending NEC champion Saint Francis (PA) before a NEC-TV audience. Two days after earning Ruby Tuesday Player of the Game honors for her performance against the Red Flash, Washington netted another 23 points in a 70-64 overtime win over Robert Morris. The 5-foot-9 guard was the reason why Sacred Heart was able to send the game into an extra session in the first place. Washington sunk a game-tying three-pointer from the corner as time expired in regulation play. The first-year Pioneer was 17-for-40 (.425) shooting from the floor last week. She made 5 of 9 three-point attempts over the two-game clip and was also a perfect 9-for-9 from the line.
