Mount St. Mary’s opened its season in grand fashion last weekend, stunning then-No. 16 Delaware, 12-10, behind a 13-save performance from second-year netminder Chris Klaiber. Making his first collegiate start, the Lafayette, NY native was poised and ready against the Blue Hens with nine of his 13 stops coming through the first three quarters alone. However, it wasn’t until late when he really stepped up his game, holding UDel to just one goal in the fourth and making three crucial stops in the final minute of the game to preserve the victory. He finished the game with .565 save percentage as the Blue Hens put 23 of their 42 shots on goal.
