Robert Morris’ Jake Hayes couldn’t miss during the Colonials’ two-game swing in Colorado. The junior attackman scored nine goals on nine shots and totaled 10 points as RMU defeated Air Force 17-14 before falling to 11th-ranked Denver, 21-8. In his team’s win over the Falcons, Hayes found the back of the net early and often, finishing the afternoon with seven goals and eight points to tie the school records for both goals and points in a game. He then chipped in two goals during the second quarter against Denver, helping his team to pull within six, at 11-5, after trailing 5-0 at the end of the first. Hayes currently leads all NEC players in goals per game (3.25) and points per game (4.25) after tallying 13 goals and 17 points through four games thus far.
