You couldn’t ask for a better performance than what freshman netminder Matt Bukovac turned in for first-year head coach Andrew McMinn and the Robert Morris Colonials at UMBC last Saturday. The Ashburn, VA native made 16 stops and scooped up two ground balls as the Colonials tamed the Retrievers, 10-8, in his first collegiate start. The rookie goalie made 10 saves through the first three quarters before coming up big late, making six saves in the fourth, including two in the final five minutes. He also allowed just six even-strength goals as the Retrievers pocketed two scores on eight man-up opportunities.
