The New Jersey native was a point-scoring machine during the annual Garden State Rivalry Series. Laury averaged 31.0 points per contest during a home-and-home swing with Monmouth, accomplishing a rare feat in the process. Opening the 2012 Garden State Rivalry Series in grand fashion at the Jersey Shore, Laury became only the seventh player in NEC history to hit the 40-point mark in a single game. The 5-foot-7 guard from Orange, NJ poured in 42 points to spearhead a 72-64 road win. Laury, who was 16-for-28 shooting from the field during her landmark night, accounted for the most points by a NEC player since Hall of Famer Jess Zinobile scored 46 in a 2000 NEC Tournament game and did so without connecting on a single three-pointer. She also added four assists, four steals, and six rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. Laury and the Knights came up short of the sweep, but the preseason all-NEC guard managed 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a 64-60 home setback.
