Williams turned in her first sub-25 second 200-meter performance and catapulted into the NEC’s Top 3 as a result. The first-year Blackbird clocked in at 24.81, well below the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships, to score an eight-place finish at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Having finished just behind BYU’s Danielle Figgins in a 97-entrant field at the NYC 168 Street Armory, Williams instantly becomes a title contender at this upcoming weekend’s NEC Indoor Championships. Ranking ahead of senior Blackbird Jazmin Waller (24.90) and 0.02 second behind veteran teammate Kadisha Wickham (24.79), Williams’ 200-meter dash time sits second overall on the NEC performance list.
