Hart was a key cog in what was an improved LIU Brooklyn lineup throughout the season’s first half and the rookie’s ability was on full display as the second half of the season began this past weekend (Jan. 21-22) at the Terriers’ New Year Knockdown. The first-year Blackbird joined NEC Bowler of the Week, and All-American, Danielle McEwan in averaging in excess of 21.0 pins per frame over the course of the two-day event. Hart posted a team-leading 21.39 frame average while filling 92.2 percent of all frame bowled. The right-handed rookie posted a 210.4 traditional average over the course of five teams games, a span that included win over two nationally-ranked rivals. Hart shot a 220 game as part of LIU’s 1,000-plus pin explosion in a 1010-936 win over No. 10 New Jersey City. The first-year Blackbird flew even higher in a tussle with Brooklyn rival St. Francis (NY). Hart fired a 228 in 1070-898 triumph over the Terriers, who ranked 20th in the latest edition of the NTCA Top 20 Coaches Poll. LIU gave No. 2 Fairleigh Dickinson a scare with the help of a 235-pin performance from Hart, but the Blackbirds wound up on the short end of a 972-953 decision to the seven-time NCAA Final Four participants. Hart, who filled the anchor roll in eight of LIU’s 10 matches at the tournament, was even better in baker play where she averaged 21.8 pins per frame. Hart accounted for a .525 strike percentage throughout the course of the two-day event, throwing 64 strikes over 122 attempts.
