Pereira surged into second place on the NEC leader board by virtue of her 800-meter time at the NYC Gotham Cup. The first-year Seahawk completed the race in 2:19.99 to win her heat and placed fourth out of 48 contestants. Pereira, who hails from the Garden State, won her heat at the Gotham Cup and ranked as the third-best collegiate finisher on hand.
