Bowen finds himself as the first Hawk to claim NEC Rookie of the Week honors this season following his memorable showing at the Army 6-Way Meet in West Point. The freshman, who earned all-NEC honors in cross country this past fall, set Monmouth’s freshman record by completed the 3,000-meter run in 8:35.57. Although the time is just short of the IC4A Championship qualifying standard, it was good enough for a silver medal at Army and ranks Bowen second on the NEC performance list.
