Palmer put forth three key performances over a two-week stretch that included a win over Big 12 member Oklahoma State and ended with a 3-0 record for the Blackbirds.  The three-time all-NEC forward led the league in scoring in all games played from Dec. 19 through Jan. 1.  Palmer averaged 21.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest as Long Island faced CAA member William & Mary before heading out west to Reno for a pair of games at Peppermill Holiday Classic.  Before departing, Palmer put up 20 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists for her fourth double-double of the season in a 78-69 home win over the W&M Tribe.  The 5-foot-10 senior, who ranks fourth amongst NEC leaders in field goal percentage (.505), carried her hot hand out to the Silver State.  Palmer opened play at the Peppermill Classic by pouring in 27 points, on 11-for-15 shooting, in 28 minutes of floor time against tournament host Nevada.  She also had seven rebounds and one steal while not turning the ball over at all in the 67-51 triumph that earned the Blackbirds a matchup with an 8-0 OK State team.  Unfazed by the task at hand, Palmer tallied 18 points and five rebounds and teammate Kiara Evans hit the winning layup with 2.2 seconds remaining to hand the Big 12 member its first loss of the season.  Palmer shot 55.8 percent (24-of-43) from the field during the 3-0 sample that extended LIU’s win streak to nine in a row.
