Thompson put both her scoring and passing abilities on display during Wagner’s two games last week. The 5-foot-3 freshman guard averaged 8.5 points and 6.5 assists over a pair of games against Columbia and New Jersey Tech. Thompson went for 15 points, dished out four assists, and made two steals in a 12-point win over Ivy League member Columbia. After shooting 5-of-7 from the floor against Columbia, Thompson spent most of her time creating easy buckets for others during Wagner’s three-point setback at NJIT. The rookie scored only two points, but was credited with nine assists. Her 15 assists over three games this season leads all NEC freshmen.
