Making her Northeast Conference debut, Leid was the Red Flash’s most-productive bowler and the top-ranked rookie finisher at the two-day NEC Fall meet that unfolded at Colony Lanes in Wallingford, CT this past weekend. The first-year Flash averaged 19.26 pins per frame over the course of nine traditional team matches. The 192.6 game average ranked 13th overall on the NEC individual leader board and first amongst freshmen. Only one of two SFPA bowlers to start all nine contests, Leid filled 74 of 90 frames (.822) and struck 46 times in 99 chances (.465). Her efforts helped the second-year program post four team victories, including a landmark win over perennial NCAA title contender Fairleigh Dickinson. Leid reached the 210-pin mark in three of the nine NEC matches and produced the team’s weekend high game of 229 during a 978-814 upset of No. 3 FDU. Her 178 game helped the Flash grind out a low-scoring victory over No. 8 Kutztown. Leid finished her first NEC competition on a high note, turning in a 210 game against Saint Peter’s followed by a 217-pin performance against Monmouth.
