Williams picked up right where left off last season as he led the Colonials to an 83-57 victory over Rider on Friday in the season-opener for both teams at the Charles L. Sewall Center. The second-year guard scored a career-high 28 points, with 14 in each half, to mark his fifth straight game of 10 or more points dating back to the 2010-11 campaign. He seemed automatic for RMU, hitting 11 of his 20 shots from the field and five of his 11 attempts from beyond the arc. Adding to his career night that surpassed his previous high of 26 points set against Wagner in 2010-11’s season finale, he contributed four rebounds, an assist and a steal.
