Brewer might have put on one the biggest performance of his three-year career at Sacred Heart this past weekend. The Somers, CT, native scored both game-winning goals in a pair of must-win games to help his Pioneers clinch a share of the NEC Regular-Season Title and earn the adidas/NEC Player of the Week award. On Friday against Quinnipiac, he found the back of the net early, in just the 9th minute, when he took a pass up the middle from teammate Brian Fancolini, settled it and drilled it home for the 1-0 lead. The Pioneers would finish the game with a 3-0 victory, a momentum-building win they would feed off of heading into their season-finale showdown with Bryant on Sunday. Down 1-0 to the Bulldogs, Brewer assisted on the game-tying score before putting his team ahead in the 78th minute, completing the comeback to earn SHU the top seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament. With both goals, Brewer extended his scoring streak to three games. He also took over the team-lead in points (14) thanks to his two-game, five-point effort.
