The sophomore wide receiver, who has made the third-most receptions (42) in the NEC this season, made a impact on special teams in Monmouth’s three-point road win over Saint Francis (PA). Pollard became the first Monmouth Hawk to return a punt for a touchdown since the 2002 season. With Monmouth clinging to a 27-24 lead midway through the third quarter, Pollard fielded a punt from Andrew Penska at his own 48-yard line and took it 52 yards to pay dirt. The 5-foot-9, whose shiftiness and speed make him an ideal returner, joined Bryant’s Jordan Brown as the lone two NEC players to bring a punt back for a score this season. Pollard, who totaled two returns for 59 yards in the Hawks’ eventual 48-45 win, owns the longest return the NEC has seen thus far this season, having taken a punt back for a 57-yard gain against Colgate (Oct. 8).
