Brown used his kick return skills to set up three touchdown drives in Bryant’s 35-point Week 7 showing against Monmouth. Compounding his Northeast Conference lead in all-purpose yardage, the preseason all-NEC running back totaled 104 yards on three kickoff returns (34.7 ypr). After Monmouth took a 33-14 lead late in the third quarter, Brown answered with 46-yard return that sparked the Bulldogs’ comeback bid. Two plays after bringing the ball back into Monmouth territory and drawing a face mask penalty that tacked an additional 15 yards onto the return play, Brown found pay dirt on a two-yard rush. Brown delivered again after Monmouth extended its lead to 40-28. The third-year Bulldog ran the ensuing kickoff back 38 yards to Monmouth’s 48-yard line and Bryant was in the end zone four plays later. The Bulldogs also scored a touchdown following Brown’s shortest return on the day, a 20-yarder that gave the Bulldogs the ball at their own 33-yard line early in the second quarter.
