Oliver led all tacklers and came up with a game-changing takeaway in Duquesne’s 28-21 NEC victory over Central Connecticut. The senior linebacker made a game-high 12 stops, seven of which were of the solo variety. Despite being on the field for the majority of the game, Oliver and the Dukes’ defense rose to the occasion in the fourth quarter. Holding the Blue Devils off the scoreboard over the final 15:00 of the victory, the defense swung the momentum in Duquesne’s favor by snuffing out CCSU’s scoring threat with just over five minutes remaining. CC’s Raul DeBenendittis made what-looked-to-be a first down reception at the Dukes’ 10-yard line, but coughed up the ball and Oliver pulled it out of the pile of bodies that ensued. In his first season as a starter, Oliver is the Duquesne’s leading tackler.
