Veith garners Molten/NEC Player of the Week honors for the second time this season following a 3-0 week for the Colonials, highlighted by a win over defending NEC champion Sacred Heart. The six-three senior averaged 4.27 kills per game and hit for .554 while recording 14 blocks for the last week. The Ohio native began by notching ten kills in a 3-0 sweep over local rival and Big East opponent Pittsburgh on Wednesday. The win over Pitt was only a warm up for Veith as she followed up her performance by hitting .607 and posting nine blocks against first place Sacred Heart in RMU’s 3-1 win on Saturday. She continued to steamroll the competition as she matched a career-high 19 kills on Sunday as the Colonials picked up a 3-1 victory over Quinnipiac. In the win, Veith hit an impressive .608 clip. She has now posted six consecutive double-digit kill performances to represent a new career-best and has hit above .400 in eight of her past 10 matches overall, including four surges past the .600 mark during that stretch.
