Quinnipiac is 5-1 in its last six games and to no surprise it’s this week’s adidas/NEC Player of the Week, junior Philip Suprise, leading the way. The Milwaukee, WI, product scored two goals and drew the foul that set up the game-winning penalty kick on Sunday to cap the Bobcats’ 2-0 weekend. On Friday against Saint Francis (PA), he scored the game-tying goal in the 25th minute before Bobcats earned the win in overtime, 2-1, on a goal by William Daniels at the 91:02 mark. Two days later, Suprise evened the slate again for the Bobcats, this time beating RMU’s goalkeeper to make it a 1-1 game. He then drew a foul inside the box that resulted in a penalty kick, which teammate Matthew Rothbart would take and convert into a 2-1 lead with 11 minutes to play. With his two-goal effort, Suprise now ranks third in the NEC in points per game (1.11) and sixth in goals per game (0.33). He also places fourth in assists per game (0.44).
