Calderon picks up her first adidas/NEC Player of the Week honor of the 2011 season after a scorching eight-point weekend. The senior forward had a hand in all but one of Long Island’s six goals in a pair of wins. The former NEC Player of the Year notched two goals and one assist in a 4-1 triumph over Bryant Friday night, followed with a goal and an assist in Sunday afternoon’s 2-1 triumph over Wagner. Against Bryant, the California native assisted on teammate Jen Spicer’s first-half goal and then broke the second-half tie with a goal of her own. The game-winner was her sixth tally of the season, tying her for the team lead and fourth best mark in the NEC. Calderon now has 59 career points and 25 career goals, placing her second all-time at LIU. She is now just six points away from tying the all-time leader, Larissa Swarzlander.
