Tirelli records her first adidas/NEC Rookie of the Week honor after posting her first collegiate points as the Knights went 1-1 this past weekend. During FDU’s 4-2 setback against Quinnipiac, the rookie notched her first career goal in the 74th minute of play off of a cross from the far right corner. The Knights rebounded with a 2-0 triumph over CCSU on Sunday as Tirelli assisted on Rashidah Sherman’s insurance goal in the 85th minute. The New York product made a through-ball pass to her teammate at midfield, enabling Sherman’s breakaway. Tirelli currently leads the freshman in points (3) and represents just one of two rookie Knights with goals.
