Heading into Albany’s Week 5 date at Saint Francis (PA), King had yet to catch a touchdown pass and the Danes had not had a receiver exceed 100 yards in a game in nearly two full years. The redshirt freshman receiver changed all of that in Albany’s 41-20 NEC win over the Red Flash. King made five receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns, recording UA’s first 100-yard receiving game since Oct. 24, 2009. The 6-foot-1 receiver broke a 7-7 tie by making a 19-yard touchdown catch with 2:42 remaining in the first half. Earlier on the scoring drive, he made a 21-yard grab that brought the ball into Saint Francis’ territory. King added a 49-yard touchdown reception on the first play of the fourth quarter to give the Great Danes a 31-13 lead. The rookie receiver, who is the son of former Cincinnati Bengals’ first-round draft choice Emanuel King (1985), has 14 receptions for a team-high 252 yards.
