Brown turned in a pair of impressive special teams plays on his way to amassing 334 all-purpose yards in a 26-6 NEC victory on Friday night at Sacred Heart. The Connecticut native ran back a kickoff 38 yards before recording a 53-yard punt return during what was Bryant’s first-ever win in the Constitution State. Sacred Heart’s kicking units kept the ball away from the Bulldogs’ preseason all-NEC running back for most of the night, but Brown took full advantage when given a rare opportunity. Midway through the second quarter, he fielded a low line drive punt, made a move, and sprinted 53 yards to pay dirt for a 16-3 Bulldogs’ lead. Special teams aside, Brown rushed 38 times for 248 yards, the fourth-most in the single-game history of NEC play. His 334 all-purpose yards ranks second in Bryant’s single-game annals.
