Sullivan led Monmouth’s big-play defensive effort which resulted in a 20-9 road win at Villanova, the program’s first ever over a CAA member. The sophomore linebacker made 4.0 tackles for a loss, one of which denied Villanova on a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter. In what was the turning point of the game, Sullivan stepped up on a 4th-and-goal play from Monmouth’s 1-yard line. With the Wildcats running to the right, the former Shore Conference High School standout shot through and dropped the Villanova ball carrier two yards behind the line of scrimmage to force a turnover on downs that preserved the Hawks’ 10-7 advantage. Then, with Monmouth clinging to a 13-9 lead later on in the fourth quarter, Sullivan sacked Villanova quarterback Chris Culicerto for a seven-yard loss on a 3-and-4 play from Monmouth’s 48-yard line. Sullivan totaled eight tackles, seven of the solo variety, and 1.0 sack to lead the Hawks’ defense for the second straight week.
