Zoncher Dennis made the most of his first collegiate start, scoring his first goal in the 51st minute to help Mount St. Mary’s record a 1-1 tie at Towson and earn this week’s adidas/NEC Rookie of the Week honor. The Swarthmore, PA, native found the back of the net when he corralled the ball during an unsettled situation and sent it past the Towson goalkeeper with 50:02 showing on the clock. The momentum from the 1-all draw would carry over to the team’s next game, as Dennis and the Mount would down Rider, 2-1, at home to move to 1-1-1 on the season.
