McCoy garners adidas/NEC Defensive Player of the Week honors following a solid week in goal for Monmouth. The freshman did all she could in the Hawks’ 2-1 double overtime loss to regionally ranked Navy last Monday evening, as McCoy made six saves and even assisted on teammate Kim Clemmer’s game-tying goal in the 90th minute of play against the Midshipman. McCoy launched a free kick restart into the box, which Clemmer headed in to knot the score at 1-1. The Maryland product then made six more saves Sunday to mark her first career shutout en-route to a 2-0 win over Bryant in MU’s first NEC match of the season. For the week, McCoy recorded a 0.93 GAA and a .857 save percentage.
