Costello picks up adidas/NEC Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals, including the game winner, in the Hawks’ 2-1 win over Lehigh on Friday night. The sophomore-forward scored her first goal of the game in the 10th minute off an assist from Monique Plescia. The New Jersey native wasted no time regaining the lead for the Hawks as she netted her second tally just 32 seconds after Lehigh notched the equalizer in the 77th minute. With the win MU snapped Lehigh’s 10-game home winning streak that dates back to 2009. On Sunday, the sophomore added three shots in the Hawks’ 3-1 win over St. Peters. Costello’s two goal weekend added to her team leading point total of eight points.
