Egusquiza was right in the middle of Rider’s three-win week. The two-time reigning NEC Player of the Year scored a goal in each of the Broncs’ three victories, two of which were on the road. The senior midfielder was responsible for the first goal scored on Rider’s Turf Field this season. In what was the Broncs’ first home game since hosting the 2010 NEC Championship Game, Egusquiza opened the scoring in the 21st minute of a 2-0 win over LaSalle. She struck again on both legs of Rider’s Labor Day weekend swing through North Carolina and Virginia. Egusquiza tallied a goal and an assist in Rider’s 7-1 win at Appalachian State and repeated the feat in a 4-0 shutout of Liberty. Her eight points on the week moved her season total to a NEC-high 13. The weekly award is the second straight for Egusquiza who initially earned the honor on August 30 after tallying two goals and an assist in the Broncs’ season-opening drubbing of Ball State.
