Terry tormented Long Island’s pitching staff during Monmouth’s four-game sweep of the Blackbirds. The senior third baseman hit safely in all four of the victories, which allowed Monmouth to overtake LIU for first place in the NEC standings. Terry batted .533 (8-for-15) with nine RBI and six runs scored against the Blackbirds, who had yet to lose a conference series heading into the four-game set at the Jersey Shore. Five of Terry’s eight hits went for extra bases (4 2B, HR). Accounting for a .588 on-base percentage, Terry walked once, was hit by a pitch, and struck out only once in 17 plate appearances. The No. 3 hitter in Monmouth’s lineup also was 1-for-1 in stolen base attempt, a steal of home nonetheless. Terry put Monmouth on the scoreboard by belting a one-out RBI double in the first inning of Game 2. He delivered another run-scoring two-bagger to help the Hawks overcome a 5-3 deficit during their last at-bat of the eventual 6-5 walk-off win With the Hawks trailing by a 2-1 margin in the fifth inning of Game 3, Terry pulled a two-run double down the leftfield line and capped the four-run inning by stealing home in the 5-2 victory. Terry was on base four times, drove in five runs, and scored another two during the Hawks’ 17-1 win in the series finale. With the Hawks jumping all over LIU’s starter from the get-go, Terry delivered a run-scoring single in the first inning, a RBI double in the second inning, and then took a Blackbirds’ reliever deep in the third inning.
