Russell picked up three wins from the pitching circle to help Sacred Heart fill the league's top spot heading into the last week of regular season play. The senior began by tossing a complete game, three-hit shutout against Long Island, striking out four batters in the process. Over seven innings Russell allowed just one Blackbird to reach third base and escaped a bases loaded, no-out jam en-route to tallying her seventh shutout of the year. Having hardly exhausted her hurling efficiency, the Connecticut native earned her remaining two wins in a doubleheader against Bryant. In 12.2 innings of work she racked up nine strikeouts and improved her record against NEC opponents to 10-3 this season. In total Russell held opposing batters to a .222 average while racking up 13 strikeouts and maintaining a 1.42 ERA.
