Lucas contributed to Wagner’s NEC series victory at Quinnipiac, doing so from both the mound and at the plate. Lucas slugged 1.000 over the four-game set and was winning pitcher in the series finale. Occupying the designated hitter spot when not on the mound, Lucas went 7-for-17 (.412) with six RBI and four runs scored as the Seahawks won three of the four road contests. Six of his seven hits went for extra bases - four doubles and two home runs. He failed to record a hit in the series opener, but still contributed to the 8-6 victory by scoring a run and driving in another. He reached on an error and came around to score in the sixth inning before breaking a 6-6 tie on a go-ahead sacrifice fly to right field in the 11th frame. The left-handed hitting Lucas exploded for six hits in seven at-bats during the middle two games of the series. He blasted his first home run of the season while leading off the third innings of Game 2, cutting Wagner’s deficit to 5-4. Helping Wagner bounce back from a 6-5 setback, Lucas went 3-for-3 with three RBI and a pair of runs in Game 3. He blasted two doubles, a home run, and walked in the Seahawks’ 14-3 victory. Lucas toed the rubber for the finale of the four-game set and locked up the series victory for Wagner. He allowed three runs, only one of which was earned, and five hits over 8.0 innings in a 7-3 triumph. His ninth-inning double pushed his season total to a league-leading 13 two-baggers.
