Hidalgo knocked off some of New England’s finest to claim a pair of titles this past weekend. The second-year Bulldog won all six of her matches (three singles, three doubles) at the New England Championships hosted by Sacred Heart. She posted straight-set victories over Fairfield’s Carolina Koladzyn and Sacred Heart’s Kate Donnelly to reach the No. 1 Flight singles final where she faced Providence’s Marisela Aviles. After splitting the first two sets, Hidalgo prevailed in a third-set super tiebreaker, 6-0, 4-6, 10-7 to win the singles title. Hidalgo and classmate Lucy Bird partnered to conquer the No. 1 Flight doubles bracket. They defeated duos from Hartford, Providence, and UConn to claim their crown.
