One week after Monmouth heptathlete Lindsey Walsh halted Sacred Heart’s two-week long possession of the NEC Field Athlete of the Week award, Watkins makes it two in a row for the Hawks. Watkins became the first NEC high jumper to meet the qualifying height for the ECAC Championships this spring. The third-year Hawk, who won the NEC Indoor high jump crown back on February 12, cleared 1.70m (5’ 7”) to win the Moravian Greyhound Invitational. Matching her winning height from this year’s NEC Indoor title meet, Watkins topped a 24-entrant field at Moravian and took over the NEC lead in her signature event.
