The Pioneers are riding a three-game win streak and are now just one game out of the final NEC playoff spot with two regular season games remaining. Russo scored twice and registered two ground balls and two caused turnovers as the Pioneers downed Long Island, 13-8, on Friday, then exploded for five goals, two assists and five draw controls in Sacred Heart’s 19-7 conquest of Wagner on Sunday. Russo leads the NEC with 10 free position goals on the year. The Lindenhurst, NY native is also third on the Pioneers with 29 goals and ranks fourth with 35 points.
