Caroleo continued to spark the NEC’s most prolific offense with nine goals and an assist in a pair of Quinnipiac wins last week. The nine goals came on 11 shots - an 81.8 percent conversion rate - and she also accumulated three ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers as the first place Bobcats improved to 4-0 in NEC play. Caroleo posted her second six-goal outing of the 2011 campaign on Friday as Quinnipiac snapped a five-game losing streak against Sacred Heart with a 14-5 victory in Hamden. She scored on all six of her shot attempts and won two draws. Two days later the North Babylon, NY native posted a hat trick and added an assist, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls in a 16-15 double overtime win over a solid opponent in Denver. Caroleo netted an unassisted marker in the first overtime to give the Bobcats a one-goal edge. She is the NEC’s leading goal scorer, averaging 3.11 per game, and has recorded eight multiple-goal games in nine outings on the year. Caroleo, who is Quinnipiac’s third NEC Player of the Week honoree of the season - joining Lauren Matuszcak and Devon Gibney - also ranks second in the conference with 3.67 ppg and fifth with 2.78 ground balls per game.
