Gronsky recorded at least one hit in each of Monmouth’s six games last week, four of which were won by the Hawks. The rookie middle infielder batted .429 (9-for-21) with eight runs batted in and three runs scored over a span that featured single contests against Saint Peter’s and Columbia followed by a four-game NEC set against Central Connecticut. He also walked once, logged two HBP, and recorded a sacrifice. He opened the week by recording two hits and three RBI in a setback to NJ rival Saint Peter’s and doubled in his next three games thereafter. Gronsky singled, doubled, was hit by a pitch, and drove in four runs, including the game’s first, during a 9-4 victory over Ivy League contender Columbia. Playing shortstop for Monmouth’s series victory over the defending NEC champion Blue Devils, Gronsky belted a double in both halves of Saturday’s doubleheader. He went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in one of the Hawks two runs in the 2-0 Game 1 victory. Batting in the No. 2 hole, Gronsky doubled in his first at-bat of Saturday’s nightcap, a 3-2 win for the Hawks.
