Labarthe won twice last week to run her singles win streak to 10 matches before suffering her first defeat since February 5. On the way to her fourth consecutive NEC Rookie of the Week selection, Labarthe posted two crucial team points in a pair of 4-3 victories. Helping the Bobcats edge out Hofstra, Labarthe ran past Lauren Clifton, 6-2, 6-1. Four days later, she posted another straight-set win (6-3, 6-1) over Stephanie Smyers of NEC rival Bryant. It was not until facing Ivy Leaguer Stephanie Kent on March 27 that Labarthe’s 10-match win streak came to a halt. The Oklahoma native fell, 7-5, 6-2, to her Yale counterpart at No. 3 singles.
