Morgenstern had been slumping ever since capturing the NEC Rookie of the Week award on March 8, but the first-year Bobcat bounced back during last week’s 6-1 team win over Siena. Having faced no shortage of tough opponents (Brown, Yale, Western Ill.) of late, Morgenstern dropped three straight singles contests heading into the Bobcats’ bout with Siena. After teaming with Andrew Weeden for a victory at No. 2 doubles, Morgenstern quickly downed Robert Cooperman, 6-3, 6-2, in the No. 5 singles slot. The rookie owns a 3-1 record in dual matches at the fifth singles position.
