Skvarka picked up a pair of singles wins that helped Fairleigh Dickinson to team victories over two regional rivals. Manning the No. 2 position in the Knights’ lineup, the Slovak topped his counterparts from Boston University and Colgate in straight sets. Skvarka downed BU’s Michael Koeplman, 6-3, 6-2, as part of FDU’s 6-1 team triumph over the Terriers. One day later, he provided a crucial team point in FDU’s 4-3 win over Colgate by topping Alec Goldstein, 7-6 (3), 6-2. Skvarka nearly made it 3-for-3 in singles matches last week during the team’s 6-1 setback to Florida Southern. The FDU sophomore took the first set from Benoit Paradis before falling in a third-set super tiebreaker, 6-3, 6-7 (3), 10-6. Skvarka also posted a 2-1 record at the No. 3 doubles spot last week, defeating tandems from BU and Colgate before falling to a pair from Florida Southern.
