Labarthe has been on fire since February. The first-year Bobcat posted three singles victories last week to run her win streak to eight straight matches dating back to her win over Fordham’s Mia Foccia on Feb. 19. The continuation of Labarthe’s winning ways has landed the Oklahoma native a second consecutive NEC Player of the Week award. On her way to a trio of straight-set victories at the No. 3 singles spot, Labarthe opened play last week by topping Taysha Blessington, 7-5, 6-2, as part of Quinnipiac’s 6-1 team triumph over two-time defending NEC champion Long Island. Labarthe needed little time to complete a dominant performance against Betsy Edershile of nationally-ranked Washington University in St. Louis. She topped her counterpart, 6-1, 6-0, as the Bobcats posted a 5-2 team win. Oklahoma Baptist eked out a 4-3 team win, but its No. 3 player could not find a way to cool down Labarthe. The two-time NEC Player of the Week eased her way past Mariana Rosa, 6-1, 6-4.
