Labarthe makes it two rookie awards in a row after running her personal singles win streak to five straight matches dating back to Feb. 19 against Fordham. Labarthe added two singles wins and a pair of doubles victories to her ledger last week. The first-year Bobcat needed little time to win a pair at No. 3 singles. She accounted for one of Quinnipiac’s two team points in a 5-2 setback to Northern Iowa by easing past Lara Okicki, 6-3, 6-0. Two days later, Labarthe did her part in a 7-0 team shutout of Western Illinois. The NEC Rookie of the Week held serve throughout a 6-0, 6-2 win over Amy Unzicker. Labarthe teamed up with Sarah Viebrock in doubles play where the duo beat Northern Iowa’s top tandem and Western Illinois’ No. 2 pairing. Labarthe owns a 7-1 record in dual match singles play during what has been a rookie year to remember thus far.
