Parziale’s early spring semester performance resulted in the first-year Bulldog’s third NEC Rookie of the Week award. The former standout at Moore County’s Pinecrest High School in North Carolina opened the spring season in the upper half of Bryant’s singles lineup. In the team’s first dual match since October, Parziale accounted for the Bulldogs’ lone point in a 6-1 setback to Buffalo by knocking off UB senior Marcello Mazzetto, 7-6, 6-4, at No. 3 singles (Jan. 25). The freshman nearly made it two wins in a row when he contested a No. 2 singles match against Colgate’s Bobby Berkozwitz (Feb. 5) . After winning the first set 6-3, Parziale dropped the next two in tiebreakers. His most recent victory was a big one as it helped Bryant knock off Sacred Heart, which was tabbed second in the NEC preseason poll. Parziale came back from down one set to top SHU’s Cole Conrad, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, as part of a 4-3 team win (Feb. 27).
