Udenze was dominant down low during Central Connecticut’s sweep through Brooklyn. The senior center averaged 21.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in road victories over Long Island and St. Francis (NY). Helping Central close out the regular season on a high note and secure the No. 6 seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament, Udenze shot 55.6 percent (20-of-36) from the floor. During the Blue Devils’ first stop in Brooklyn, Udenze put up her fifth double-double of the season in a 68-62 triumph over LIU. The 6-foot-1 post player tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds to help Central avenge an earlier loss to the preseason NEC favorite Blackbirds, who were vying for an NEC Tournament home game. Two days later at St. Francis (NY), Udenze eclipsed the 20-point mark for the third time in NEC play. The veteran Blue Devil poured in 23 points, on 11-of-18 shooting, and grabbed nine rebounds. Udenze, who is averaging 11.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest, has come on strong down the season’s stretch run. All three of her 20-plus point performance came in the month of February.
