Kelich took the ball for Bryant’s series opener at Houston Baptist and broke the Bulldogs into the win column. The sophomore right-hander limited the host team to two hits and one earned run over 7.0 innings of Bryant’s 5-2 victory. On the way to the 10th win of his collegiate career, Kelich, who went 9-1 as a freshman, registered 10 strikeouts and allowed only one base on balls. It was a successful bounce-back showing for the second-year starter who took the loss in Bryant’s season opener at Oklahoma State. Kelich threw 4.2 innings during his start in Stillwater, surrendering seven hits and two earned runs. Thus far in 2011, Kelich owns a 1-1 record with a 2.31 earned-run average. He has struck out 11 batters over 11.2 innings of work, issuing only two walks during that time.
