Velazquez’s best weekend as a collegiate bowler helped nationally-ranked Kutztown finish first at the inaugural Pennsylvania State Championships. The first-year Golden Bear posted a 22.20 overall frame average at the two-day tournament that featured Pennsylvania’s five NCAA bowling programs. Helping Kutztown to a 7-0 record and a meet-high pinfall total, Velazquez filled 91.4 percent of frames bowled. She bowled two 10-frame traditional games, exceeding the 200-pin mark during both. Her 246 was both a season high and a single-game high for the tournament. She threw 23 strikes in 38 attempts (.605) spanning both traditional and baker play. She completed 15 frames during the baker portion of the meet, filling 14 of them.
