Fajoyomi continues to reach new heights during what has been a phenomenal freshman campaign thus far. The St. Francis (NY) rookie high jumper upped his league-leading mark to 2.14m (7’ 0.25”) at the Metropolitan Championships. Claiming the Met high jump title that former Terrier Dean Brown held for the past two years, Fajoyomi out-leapt a field of nine competitors. Fajoyomi is one of 35 NCAA Division I high jumpers to have cleared that height this season This week’s honor marks the second time this season Fajoyomi has won the rookie award, which has been monopolized by freshman high jumpers this year. Fajoyomi, Monmouth’s Tommy Butler, and Central Connecticut’s have all cleared the IC4A standard of 2.04m (6’ 8.25”) and have the hardware to prove it.
